Take on the challenge of climbing to the summit of the second highest massif in northern Africa.
ighil mgoun is the second highest massif in northern Africa. This hike to the top, ighil n’oumsoud (4068m), is a challenge, but does not require mountaineering experience and the reward of panoramic views makes all the hard work worthwhile. Even if you prefer not to complete the climb, the breathtaking views can still enjoy dramatic passes both during the approach and in the return to the hospitable, fertile valley aït bouguemez.

Tour Overview

Day 1

arrival in marrakech and enjoy a day off.

spend the night in a local Riad o hotel

Day 2

transfer from marrakech to the generous valley of aït bou

Guemez (1850m), known by the French as the "Happy Valley". spend the night in a local country house. Transfer from 4 to 5 hours, approximately.

Day 3

we begin our walk leaving behind the valley of aït bou guemez,

climbing gently through the narrow valley from Arous and passing through the village of Aït Sayd to reach the pastures of Azib N'ikkis (2200m). the beautiful views of ighil mgoun are already in front. or climbs steeply to cross two steps in rapid succession, tizi n'oumskiyq (2909m) and aghouri est (3400m), which offer wonderful long-range views, before descending to the vast expanse of the tarkeddid plateau 2900m). We spent the night in the shelter. 7.8 more or less hours walking, approximately.

Day 4

today we ascend ighil n'oumsoud (4068m), the summit of ighil

mgoun, doing an early, before sunrise departure from the refuge. the climb itself is demanding, but the views all around and towards the sahara are quite amazing and it is well worth the effort. We descend walking, 8 hours approximately. After visiting Mgoun's top, we return to the same way, we spend another night in refuge in tarkeddid

Day 5

We begin our hike leaving behind tarkeddit refuge will arrive at aghori east higher (3400m), then offer wonderful long-range views before descending into the valley of arous to reach the pastures of azib n'ikkis (2200m). the beautiful views of ighil mgoun are already in front. and going through the village of aït sayd well in the or spend the night in a Berber house. 6. 7 hours walking, approximately. the valley aït bou guemez

Day 6

transfer to marrakech and enjoy free time with the option to

explore this wonderful city. spend the last night at night in your riad. 4 to 5 hours transfer, approximately

Day 7

the end of tour

after breakfast transport to airport return to your country
